Makiwara (Ground Base Only)
The makiwara is a wooden striking-post used in Okinawan and Japanese martial arts to train striking techniques. The makiwara is not a wooden heavy bag. I cannot emphasize that enough. The makiwara is like a good honing stone. It requires time and repetition. And most importantly it requires skill in operating it. But if you take the time to develop that skill then the results you can achieve are nothing short of astounding. This listing is for the base only. No post is included. The base is made of pressure-treated lumber. It measures 43” (109cm) long and 18” (46cm) tall. It has four pre-drilled holes on each side that can be used with whatever hardware is needed to attach it to your surface.
In the box: ground-mount
Bolts (to attach makiwara post)
One last DISCLAIMER: Do not use a makiwara without the experience or supervision to keep you safe. If you do injure yourself stop using the makiwara until you are fully healed. If you are under 18 years old do not strike the makiwara with full power.
