The makiwara is a wooden striking-post used in Okinawan and Japanese martial arts to train striking techniques. The makiwara is not a wooden heavy bag. I cannot emphasize that enough. The makiwara is like a good honing stone. It requires time and repetition. And most importantly it requires skill in operating it. But if you take the time to develop that skill then the results you can achieve are nothing short of astounding.

This listing is only for the platform. It comes in two sizes, Small, 1ft x 4ft, or Large 4ft x 4ft. Both are meant to be used with the floor makiwara. Platform comes disassembled with all necessary hardware. Note: platforms may not fit floor bases made before 2022.
